歌舞伎湯は、伝通院の裏手のマンションの1Fで営業する銭湯でした。目の前には明倫会館という学生寮があり、全国各地の寮生さんが利用していたそう。女性用の浴室には、ノイシュヴァンシュタイン城のモザイクタイル絵が広がっていました。どうも、銀座生まれ銀座育ちの先代の女将さんが絵柄を決めたそう。令和に元号が切り替わる1ヶ月前、惜しまれつつ閉業を迎えました。
Kabuki-yu was a public bath operating on the first floor of an apartment building behind Dentsu-in Temple. The student dormitory Meirin Kaikan was right across the street, and dorm residents from all over Japan used the bathhouse. A mosaic tile painting of Neuschwanstein Castle adorned the wall of the women’s bath. The previous proprietress, who was born and raised in Ginza was said to have chosen the design. One month before the beginning of the Reiwa Era in 2021, the bath was regrettably closed.
